My name is Sybil Cioffi, and I've lived in Charlotte for three years in a house with my husband, Dom Chaffee, and our 12-year-old son, Jace.

We moved from Vermont, and happy to be in Charlotte with the sunshine compared to New England winters. We love the bones of the house.
Something about when you-- just the feel of it. When you move in, you can feel that it's well-built.
When you first walk into the house, the first thing you see is the living room with these beautiful vaulted ceilings.
And it's a great room, very open, which we like, but it's north-facing in the back, so even though it has a-- had a ton of, you know, French doors and sliding glass doors, it was actually quite a dark room.
I think I always fixated on the fact that it was dark, especially in the mornings when I would wake up, and the sun would be shining, and it would be a beautiful day, and I felt like I had to turn the lights on.
There was something just-- that irked me about that. So we put in three skylights.
They changed the room, made it much airier and more in touch with nature where you can look up and see outside. And I would just love it.
I love being in the room with the skylights open.
And I tend to hang out here more, read books, drink my coffee, and I can hear nature outside, so it's just a much better feeling than it was before.
